Dr. Hala El-Said, Minister of Planning and Economic Development, continued the discussion of the economic and social development plan for the fourth year plan 2021-2022 of the sustainable development plan 2018-2022 during the meeting of the Financial, Economic, and Investment Affairs Committee in the Senate.During the meeting, El-Said clarified that the structural reforms program is based on three main areas, represented in the field of industry, agriculture, communication, and information technology, as they represent the real economy to make the Egyptian economy more resilient and resilient to facing crises.El-Said reviewed some features of the structuring of the industrial sector that drives a large number of sectors with the operation of feeding industries, as well as the role of small and medium enterprises in providing job opportunities, explaining that the large industries are the ones that would make a qualitative leap as they include a high technological component, in addition to small industries.On achieving the targets, El-Said explained that it is based on specific targets for sectors that have a high employment capacity and that have high intertwining with other sectors, and according to the in-depth studies that are carried out at the level of each sector.El-Said pointed out that targets are set for each sector in cooperation with the concerned ministries, with consideration to the measures that each ministry needs, whether at the level of legislation or procedures, as they are put in the plan for each ministry to work on and based on it the national target growth is set.
El-Said emphasized that the work on indicators related to international indicators such as those of governance and competitiveness is done in cooperation with civil society and independent research centers to obtain international credibility.
