The Ministry is keen to provide the necessary support to achieve rapid steps in implementing national projects: Says Hala El-SaidDr. Hala El-Said, Minister of Planning and Economic Development, agreed to support the "El Fardous Axis" project implemented through the Greater Cairo Reconstruction Authority of the Ministry of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities, with an additional amount of EGP 150 million, to speed up the project's completion on time.
Dr. Hala El-Said affirmed the ministry’s keenness to provide the necessary support to achieve rapid steps on the ground in implementing national projects and completing the ongoing projects.
El-Said explained that the additional appropriation comes in light of the Egyptian President’s directives to speed up the completion of the first phase of the El Fardous axis project, pointing out that the total cost of the first phase of the project amounts to about EGP 1.191 billion.
It is worth noting that the El Fardous Axis project contributes to reducing the traffic density coming from downtown Cairo and Helwan and pedestrians in Heliopolis and Nasr City and heading to New Cairo, thus easing pressure on each of Ramses and Ismail Al-Fangiri Street and even the Field Marshal Tantawi axis.
The first phase starts from Taki Square to the Field of Marshal Tantawy, passing through Salah Salem Street, the Autostrad Corridor, and Emaar Road, and the second phase starts from the Corridor of the Field Marshal Tantawi to the axis of the martyr and then connects to Zakir Hussein Street passing through the military units, and the third phase starts from Taki Square to Lotfi Al-Sayed Street Via Ahmed Saeed Street.
The El Fardous Axis project starts from the Al-Jabal Canal passing through Egypt and Sudan Street - Ahmed Said - Salah Salem - the highway axis at Manshiyet Nasser and with the extension of the Martyr Axis linking to Zakir Hussein Street (Al-Mithaq), and its length is about 12 km.
