State’s investments dedicated to Health Ministry exceed EGP 47.5 billion: Planning Ministry

Dr. Hala El-Said, Minister of Planning and Economic Development, delivered today before the Parliament the statement of the draft sustainable development plan for the fiscal year 2021/2022, and the main features of the plan's document in its fourth and last year of the medium-term plan for sustainable development 9/21/2018.El-Said indicated during her statement that government investments by the Ministry of Health and Population exceeded EGP 47.5 billion, a growth rate of 205%, in the context of improving health services and in light of the state’s keenness to advance the health of citizens within a framework of justice and justice.El-Said pointed out that the 21/2022 plan includes many initiatives, represented in providing the necessary funds to enter 23 service hospitals, the implementation rate of which exceeded 70%, as well as the initiative of the national project for self-sufficiency from plasma derivatives.The plan will also set up 20 centers for assembling plasma, it was completed six centers, and targeted implementation of the remaining centers and number (14) in a plan year 21/2022 as well as a strategic center of a central, to reach the final stage to drug manufacturing for one of the highest medicinal pharmaceutical technology levels.El-Said continued talking about initiatives within the 2021/2022 plan, which included an increase in the number of intensive care beds by 55%, an increase in the number of nurseries for children by 10%, as well as the implementation of the goals of the “Women's Health” initiative by 100%, covering 30 million women.El-Said also indicated the trend towards deepening the local manufacture of medicines, by expanding the establishment and development of medical research centers, stimulating the establishment of pharmaceutical industries, and increasing the local component.El-Said asserted the interest of the state to provide comprehensive health care to the Egyptian citizen, pointing to a group of initiatives launched by the political leadership.
These initiatives are being implemented effectively, which includes comprehensive health insurance initiative, which implements the first phase in eight provinces starting in Port Said Governorate.
In the context of strengthening the role of university hospitals in health care, El-Said explained that the plan includes many initiatives, including increasing the coverage rates in university hospitals at the governorate level, increasing their number to 122 hospitals, with a growth rate of 6%, in addition to starting the automation of 115 university hospitals.In the area of educational services, El-Said referred to the development plan in the educational system, which has been monitoring the public with investments of more than EGP 56 billion on three main pillars.The plan aims to allow the achievement of equal educational opportunities for all without discrimination, and the achievement of the overall quality of the educational system, in addition to improving the competitiveness of education systems and outputs.El-Said added that based on these three developmental pillars, the development plan for the year 21/2022 aims to achieve some initiatives that include completing the digital transformation in the education system, including the provision of 600,000 tablets in the year of the plan, the provision of distance education services, and the completion of distance education services in the deprived areas, by establishing 93 schools, including 1156 classrooms.In addition to establishing 3125 mobile classrooms that can accommodate 141,000 students, to solve the problem of classroom density in an innovative, less expensive, and more sustainable scientific method, focusing on areas with high densities.In the field of university education services and scientific research, El-Said drew attention to the focus of the plan on implementing many initiatives, including automating tests in 154 test centers in all universities and colleges with EGP 1 billion and covering all governorates in government universities in the year 21/22, completing the establishment of 3 universities and starting In implementing two new universities.
