Main / Media / News / Egypt aims to develop technological centres in all governorates: Planning Minister

21 April 2021

Dr. Hala El-Said, Minister of Planning and Economic Development, said that the state aims to provide services to citizens and simplify them. She stressed that the goal of all Egyptian state institutions is to provide services with high efficiency to save time and effort.

El-Said added that the state is working on a plan to develop all technological centres in the various governorates, which provide municipal services such as building permits and shop licenses.
"Employees of these centers are trained on advanced technological means. Now all papers in these centers are currently archived electronically," El-Said explained.

She continued that 12 cars had been handed over to the Ministry of Local Development to operate as advanced technology centres, provided that an additional 50 cars would be added before the end of the year, to reduce overcrowding and reach remote places.
The minister cited the investment plan for the fiscal year (FY) 2021/22, stressing that the large investments made by the state are mainly aimed at providing better services to the citizen and improving the quality of his life.
El-Said added that the total targeted investments amount to EGP 1.250 trillion, stressing that the state continues to pump more investments and that FY 2021/22 will witness an increase in investments in human capital by more than 100%, which includes the fields of health, education, youth, culture and services.
The Minister of Planning and Economic Development also indicated the allocation of EGP 4.5 billion to automate the examination system.
She emphasized that digitization, automation and the provision of technological means for education are among the important affairs imposed by the coronavirus pandemic.
