Planning Ministry launches the "One Million Entrepreneurs" campaign

The Ministry of Planning and Economic Development, represented by the “Rowad 2030” project, launched the "One Million Entrepreneurs" campaign, which aims to qualify one million entrepreneurs by 2030 within the framework of the sustainable development strategy Egypt’s Vision 2030.Dr. Hala El-Said, Minister of Planning and Economic Development emphasized that entrepreneurship can provide innovative and realistic solutions to economic challenges, such as stimulating the economy with new small projects for young people to become a productive social force that effectively contributes to efforts to achieve development.El-Said added that the concept of entrepreneurship has become linked to the role that the state targets in its strategic plans, as it is related to creating new projects with different ideas and finding innovative solutions to existing problems in the market whether by introducing a new product or addressing the shortcomings of an existing product and by working to involve citizens in finding solutions.El-Said explained that the focus on entrepreneurship within the youth group has become one of the topics that cannot be ignored due to its close link with the issue of economic growth, noting that the link between education and the economy is close.“Education contributes to building the capabilities of manpower and developing their scientific knowledge to form educated manpower that instills positive trends in work, organization, and society, thus contributing to the formation of the basic foundation for innovation and creativity, “ El-Said said.Dr. Ghada Khalil, Director of the “Rowad 2030” project, indicated that, in the belief of the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development in the need to strengthen the state’s approach to stimulating entrepreneurship. The “Rowad 2030” project was launched in 2017 with funding from the National Bank of Egypt and Banque Misr, to spread the entrepreneurship culture by building youth capabilities to empower them from transforming their ideas into projects on the ground.Khalil added that some programs and initiatives have been launched, including the Professional Master of Entrepreneurship program in cooperation with the University of Cambridge and the Faculty of Economics and Political Science, Cairo University.Khalil referred to the establishment of nine business incubators in the field of artificial intelligence and tourism, in addition to an online Egyptian-African incubator. Through them, about 600 incubation opportunities were provided, and a micro-factory was established in cooperation with the Central Bank and the Nile Pioneers Initiative.This is in addition to the establishment of an Entrepreneurial Observatory (Pioneers Meter) to be an updated national database that provides quarterly reports on the latest business of incubators in Egypt, as well as the launch of the “Start Your Future” campaign in schools, which reached about 300,000 students and 1500 teachers around Egypt, and about 10,000 university students.For his part, Mohamed Al-Atribi, Chairman of Banque Misr, pointed out that the "Rowad 2030" project is one of the distinctive projects that the bank supports intending to present a set of initiatives for Egyptian youth, the most important of which is the "Start Your Future" campaign to spread the culture of self-employment in hundreds of schools.Al-Atribi confirmed that the “Million Entrepreneur” Platform provides hundreds of educational videos in entrepreneurship to help them start their projects in cooperation with a distinguished group of lecturers, while providing very carefully prepared content, stressing Banque Misr's interest in small and medium enterprises, noting that the bank has provided many Funding programs targeting small projects to help youth.Hisham Okasha, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Bank of Egypt, affirmed the bank’s keenness on effective cooperation and strategic partnership with the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development, especially in supporting its awareness campaign through the "Pioneers 2030" project and the "One Million Entrepreneur" campaign aimed at spreading the idea of entrepreneurship.The training program is completely online, with the provision of trainers at the highest level, and training programs for entrepreneurship in Arabic and English, and the trainee will receive a certificate of completion of the training course at the end of the program.The training program is divided into three phases: The first stage includes identifying the business model for startups, testing the idea of a startup, financial management for startups, business development for startups, building a brand for startups, effective leadership skills for entrepreneurs, the readiness of the startup for investment, and from idea to project in 30 days.The second phase also includes getting acquainted with the Egyptian investment law and establishing companies, Egyptian taxes, social insurance, and emerging company obligations, appointment, and selection of employees in startups, managing the stages of growth and development of emerging companies, building and developing work teams in emerging companies, managing projects in startups, increasing the capital and financing for startups, decision making and problem-solving for entrepreneurs.Entrepreneurs in the third stage learn about creativity and innovation for entrepreneurs, analysis of data and information in emerging companies, management and development of digital products for emerging companies, marketing and use of social networks for emerging companies, sales and sales management for entrepreneurs, strategic planning for emerging companies, motivation and development of employees in companies Emerging companies, intellectual property laws and preserving the rights of startups.To register for the "One Million Entrepreneurs" campaign, through the linkmillionrowad.com/register
