On the WSG sidelines:Egypt Award for Gov't Excellence General Supervisor reviews aspects of governmental cooperation between UAE & Egypt

Eng. Khaled Mostafa, Permanent Undersecretary of the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development and General Supervisor of the Egypt Award for Gov't Excellence participated recently in a session entitled "A pioneering model of cooperation in exchanging government experiences" as part of the work of the Experience Exchange Forum.
The aforementioned forum is taking place on the sidelines of the World Government Summit (WGS) 2023.
Under the theme of Shaping Future Governments, the World Government Summit 2023 takes place from 13 to 15 February in Dubai, the capital of the United Arab Emirates.
During his speech, he reviewed the cooperation between Egypt and the UAE, stressing that the Egyptian-UAE partnership is an inspiring model for joint Arab cooperation.
Mustafa referred to the cooperation protocol signed between the two countries in 2018 in the field of government services. The protocol promotes cooperation in the fields of digital transformation and institutional development.
Moreover, Mustafa highlighted the prominent cooperation fields between the two countries, namely capacity-building, the enhanced government service model, and the Egypt Award for Gov't Excellence.
He added that the vision of the Egypt Award for Gov't Excellence is to sponsor distinguished government institutions and agencies to enhance their competitiveness. This is done by providing frameworks based on international best practices, and establishing a network of partnerships.
Mustafa reviewed the stages of the launch of the award at previous sessions, noting that the current session follows the "3rd Award Course", which includes standards of excellence for government leaders, and government task forces, as well as comprehensive guides for ambassadors of excellence and residents, and handbooks for managing internal excellence awards.
On mechanized service centers, the Permanent Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Planning explained that they are part of the State's belief in the importance of digital transformation and information technology and its role in achieving inclusive and sustainable development.
He also referred to cooperation between Egypt and the United Arab Emirates concerning training and capacity-building, pointing to the training of some 2,400 administrative staff in the areas of development of government work through a series of workshops held in Egypt, as well as field visits to the United Arab Emirates.
