The National Council for Governance and Sustainable Development organizes a workshop regarding the application of governance in cooperation with Post for Investment.

Dr. Sherifa Sherif: Governance Ensures Efficiency and Effectiveness of Institutions and Limiting Corruption and Ensures Sustainable Economic Development.
The National Council for Governance and Sustainable Development, the the training arm of the ministry of planning and economic development, organized a workshop about governance, its applications, and mechanisms for a group of chairmen and members of the boards of directors of some companies. The workshop comes in cooperation with Post for Investment in accordance with the cooperation between the two entities.
In this framework, the Executive Director of the National Institute for Governance and Sustainable Development Dr. Sherifa Sherif confirmed that governance is an accelerating tool to realize the goals of Egypt Vision 2030 as governance is an ongoing process in order to reach the set goals. Then she pointed out that governance ensures the efficiency and effectiveness of institutions, limits minimize corruption, and ensures sustainable economic development.
Furthermore, Dr. Sherifa Sherif clarified that governance is based on transparency, accountability, responding to citizens, a foundation of effectiveness and efficiency, equal opportunity, law enforcement, and gender equality. She also pointed out that there are different types of governance including political, environmental, public, and organizational governance. And that governance is currently being looked at from a sectoral perspective, such as the governance of the health sector and the governance of educational institutions. This is based on the possibility of applying the main foundations and concepts.
On the other hand, the Chairman of the Board of Directors the Post for Investment, Dr. Mohamed Tarek Youssef stressed the company’s eagerness to apply the rules of governance according to the best international practices which are considered an important component of the company’s strategy and restructuring plan. He continued to bring up that the company signed a cooperation protocol with the National council for governance in order to develop internal control systems, whether for the Post Investment Company or its subsidiaries. also, he announces that the company has actually started, for over a year, to take steady steps towards developing internal control systems, whether in terms of applying governance or strengthening internal audit systems, and risk management, just to name a few.
Additionally, CEO of the Post for Investment Ahmed Abdullah assured the company’s keenness to develop the performance of its subsidiaries. Then he pointed out the invitation extended to Executive departments and representatives of the company on the boards of directors of the investee companies to attend workshops, and fruitful discussions about corporate governance with the best specialist in the field of governance, and to benefit as much as possible through the shared experiences with the national institute for governance and sustainable development.
Moreover, Member of the Board of Trustees of the National Institute for Governance and Sustainable Development, Dr. Alia Soliman explained that the workshop aims to introduce the concept of governance and its importance, to identify the different stakeholders concerned with governance, showing the benefit of applying governance and clarifying the role, duties, and formation of the board of directors, and defining the relationship between the board of directors and the executive management.
Finally, Director of the Career Path Unit at the Institute of the National Institute for Governance and Sustainable Development Dr. Dina Talaat pointed out that they cooperated with the Post for Investment comes in the framework of the consulting role of the institution in order to support governance to ensure sustainable development in all sectors. Also, she pointed out the eagerness of the institution to provide consultations, research, and training programs that seek and emphasize the dissemination of the culture, values, and practices of sustainability and the activation of governance mechanisms in all sectors of the state.
