H.E. Dr. Hala El-Said, Minister of Planning and Economic Development, met recently with John F.W. Rogers, the Executive Vice President, Secretary to the Board of Directors of Goldman Sachs Group, and Dina Powell, Director of Sovereign Relations, Sustainability, and Inclusive Growth at the Corporation, to discuss ways of cooperation, on the sidelines of her participation in the activities of the 53rd Annual Meeting of the World Economic Forum in Davos.During the meeting, Dr. Hala El-Said reviewed the Egyptian state's efforts to create an environment that attracts domestic and foreign private investment, supports the business environment, and enhances the role of the private sector as one of the main axes of the national program for structural reforms in Egypt.El-Said referred to the role of The Sovereign Fund of Egypt (TSFE), which is the investment arm of the Egyptian state, and its role in developing renewable energy projects, green hydrogen, and green infrastructure.El-Said stressed that the transformation of the green economy has become a necessity to face unprecedented global challenges, especially those related to climate change.  El-Said pointed out that the Egyptian state attaches utmost importance to climate change issues as part of its efforts to achieve comprehensive and sustainable development, with commitment and a serious orientation towards the green economy. The two parties also discussed the current global conditions that have affected all countries of the world, geopolitical crises and economic changes, and the ongoing repercussions of COVID-19, which calls for international cooperation and solidarity between stakeholders at the global and local levels.
