On WEF sidelines in Davos: Egypt’s Planning Minister, WEF Managing Director meet to discuss joint co-operation

H.E. Dr. Hala H. El-Said, Egypt’s Minister of Planning and Economic Development met on Thursday with Ms. Saadia Zahidi, Managing Director of the World Economic Forum (WEF), to discuss ways of cooperation, during her participation in the work of the 53rd edition of the World Economic Forum in Davos.
During the meeting, Dr. Hala El-Said reviewed the work files of the Ministry and its affiliated bodies, and the most prominent initiatives and efforts made by the Ministry.
El-Said referred to the Ministry's role in preparing long, medium, and short-term sustainable development plans, formulating Egypt's Vision 2030, and following up on the implementation of the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
El-Said also drew attention to the ministry's efforts to follow up on the implementation of many initiatives, including the presidential initiative for a decent life, which represents an unprecedented initiative in the world, as well as the national initiative for smart green projects.
During the meeting, the two sides also talked about opportunities for cooperation with the World Economic Forum in Davos. They discussed the various alliances and workshops it offers. They also discussed ways to support the forum technically for Egypt and to include it in the networks of the various initiatives that the country is working on.
The minister's visit to Davos, Switzerland, included meetings with international ministers, as well as CEOs of major companies and institutions. These meetings discussed opportunities to attract investments to Egypt and enhance cooperation between different governments, as well as the participation of the international private sector.
