Egypt’s NIGSD Director participates in a workshop on internal entrepreneurship and innovation in cooperation with GIZ

Dr. Sherifa Sherif, Egypt’s Executive Director of the National Institute for Governance and Sustainable Development (NIGSD), the training arm of the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development, participated in a workshop on internal entrepreneurship and innovation in public administration, which was organized in cooperation with the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ).In her speech, Dr. Sherifa Sherif stressed the importance of building capacities and investing in people as the government develops novel and innovative ideas.Sherif drew attention to the state's role in developing government services provided to citizens. She said this was accomplished by making them available through various and varied methods, and presenting them to citizens easily and easily using advanced technological means.Sherif highlighted the importance of supporting a culture of entrepreneurship, innovation, and creativity among all, not just young people.Sherif indicated the partnership between NIGSD and the GIZ Foundation, which started in 2018, through which several training programs were implemented in capacity building and awareness-raising in governance in government institutions.The workshop was attended by Manija Gardizi, Project Manager for Supporting E-Government and Innovation in Public Administration at GIZ, Dr. Hossam Othman, Advisor to the Minister of Communications for Technological Innovation and Vice President of the Information Technology Industry Development Authority, Dr. Ashraf Abdel Wahab, Director of Digital Transformation at SAP, and Dr. Rehab Farrag, Director General of the Human Capacity Development Department at NIGSD.
