The Planning and Economic Development Ministry announced on Thursday 8/12/2022 that general investments directed to the governorate of Aswan reached EGP 9.5 billion in the year 2022-23, an increase of 17.3% over 2021-2022.
This came as the ministry reviewed the investment citizen plan in the Aswan governorate for the fiscal year 2022-23.Egypt’s Minister of Planning and Economic Development, Dr. Hala El-Said stated that the sustainable development plan for the fiscal year 2022/2023 attaches importance to the governorates of Upper Egypt for achieving rapid development; it focuses on general investments in the fields of infrastructure, social and economic to benefit all citizens, especially young people, women, and disabled people.She said the number of development projects in Aswan governorate amounts to 321.A report by the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development indicated that investments worth EGP 3.6 billion were directed to the irrigation resources sector in the Aswan governorate.EGP 2.1 billion will be allocated to the housing sector, EGP 3.6 billion to the housing and slum development sector, and EGP 831 million to the transport sector. In addition, the investments allocated to higher education amount to EGP 720 million.She said the Citizen Investment Plan is an invaluable database that helps citizens follow up on construction projects in their governorates to guarantee their high-level implementation.The minister explained that the plan provides detailed information on the most critical development indicators in each governorate and its share of public investments in the plan for the fiscal year (22/2023).The “Citizen Investment Plan” also provides information on the investments directed within the national project for the development of the Egyptian countryside, "A Decent Life", the distribution of these investments among the various sectors, and the most prominent performance indicators that monitor the current state of development in each sector.
