NIGSD concludes the training of the 2nd batch of the "Governance and Digital Transformation" program at the German Hertie School

[5:23 PM, 12/7/2022] Taha Sakr: Egypt’s National Institute for Governance and Sustainable Development (NIGSD) - the training arm of the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development - concluded the training of the second batch of the "Governance and Digital Transformation" training program, at the headquarters of the Hertie School of Governance in Berlin. Over 27 trainees representing 11 state agencies attended the training program.Dr. Sherifa Sherif, Executive Director of NIGSD said that the implementation of the program comes within the framework of the cooperation agreement that was signed with the Hertie School of Governance during the first half of 2022.Sherif indicated that the training program is a helpful opportunity for exchange and discussion about the main challenges of public institutions within the scope of the various units of the program such as effective governance, anti-corruption, and digital governance.For their part, the trainees expressed their happiness with the training course and the opportunity it provided for them to study in-depth issues of governance, digital transformation, anti-corruption, and political communication.It is noteworthy that the first batch of the "Governance and Digital Transformation" program was trained at the Hertie School of Governance in Berlin last September.[5:34 PM, 12/7/2022] Taha Sakr: Egypt’s Planning Ministry runs a workshop to tackle the ministry's strategic plan for FY 2023-2024Cairo - December 7, 2022The Ministry of Planning and Economic Development, represented by the strategic department in the ministry, held a workshop at the headquarters of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), within the framework of working on the ministry's strategic plan for 2022-2026, as well as preparing the plan for the fiscal year 2023-2024.This came within the framework of achieving the strategic goals of the ministry, which are reflected in achieving the vision of the country as a whole.During the workshop, Engineer Khaled Mustafa, Permanent Undersecretary of the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development, reviewed the features of the fruitful cooperation between the ministry and the United Nations Development Program.Mostafa referred to the cooperation with the United Nations Development Program in issuing the Human Development Report for Egypt 2021. He also referred to the voluntary national reports, which present the progress Egypt has made toward achieving sustainable development.Mustafa also referred to the establishment of the strategic management unit in the ministry in 2018, explaining that it is responsible for providing technical support to similar units in the state's administrative apparatus in the areas of strategic planning, policies, follow-up and evaluation, project and program management, and performance.Mustafa also explained that the aim of the workshop is to review the previous strategic plan of the ministry and work to identify lessons learned and points of improvement toward updating the ministry's strategic plan for 2022-2026 while benefiting from the expertise of the United Nations Development Program in the field of monitoring and evaluation.
