Planning Ministry holds meeting for members of the National Accounts Working Group to discuss the indicators used to measure the output of the manufacturing sector

The Ministry of Planning and Economic Development held a meeting for members of the National Accounts Working Group headed by Dr. Ahmed Kamali, Deputy Minister of Planning, to discuss the indicators used to measure the output of the manufacturing sector, with the participation of Eng. Mohamed Abdel Karim - Head of the Industry Modernization Center, and Professor Hoda Al-Mirghani - Advisor to the Federation of Egyptian Industries for technical affairs and policy support.

During the meeting, Dr. Ahmed Kamali, Deputy Minister of Planning and Economic Development stressed the importance of the continuous development of the system of national accounts, explaining the importance of providing accurate data regularly and not late, so that decision-makers can take correct, evidence-based policies.
Dr. Kamali stressed the importance of updating the index of manufacturing industries, taking into account its representation of the sub-sectors and the sizes of different companies, stressing that the structural reform program adopted by the government aims to strengthen and increase the size of the manufacturing sector.
