The National Institute for Governance and Sustainable Development (NIGSD) - the training arm of the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development - launched the second batch of the "Governance and Digital Transformation" training program, which will run from November 28 to December 6.
The training program is taking place at the headquarters of the Hertie School of Governance in Berlin, for 27 trainees representing 11 bodies from the state's administrative apparatus.
During the opening of the program, Dr. Sherifa Sharif said that the implementation of the program comes within the framework of the cooperation agreement that was signed with the Hertie College of Governance during the first half of 2022, and in continuation of the approach taken by the National Institute for Governance and Sustainable Development in implementing distinguished international training programs, which come in cooperation with the most prestigious international universities and institutes, relying on the latest training and education methodologies.
Dr. Sherifa indicated that the first batch of the program was trained at the headquarters of the Hertie School of Governance, last September.
During the 8-day program in Berlin, insights will be provided in addition to opportunities for exchange and discussion on the main challenges of public institutions within the scope of the various units of the program such as anti-corruption, and digital governance.
Dr. Sherifa also evaluated the work and specializations of NIGSD. She noted that it is one of the leading public sector institutions in Egypt for training, consulting, and research services. It is responsible for developing rules and regulations for state agencies and their affiliated entities to promote sound governance practices throughout Egypt.
Dr. Sherifa pointed out that NIGSD is entrusted with monitoring and following up on Egypt's ranking on national and international indicators related to issues of governance, competitiveness, and sustainable development.
Dr. Sherifa also explained that the NIGSD offers a wide range of accredited training programs related to public governance, sustainable development, women's empowerment, career development, and digital transformation. These programs are in addition to the services it provides in the field of research and consulting.
