The Ministry of Planning and Economic Development organizes a workshop for students at (AASTMT)

The Ministry of Planning and Economic Development, represented by the Equal Opportunities Unit in the ministry, organized a workshop for a group of students at the Arab Academy for Science Technology & Maritime Transport (AASTMT).
The meeting was attended by Dr. Ahmed Kamali, Deputy Minister of Planning and Economic Development, Dr. Tariq Abdeen, Dean of the Faculty of Management and Technology at the Academy, Eng. Khaled Mustafa, Permanent Undersecretary of the Ministry, and Ambassador Hazem Khairat, Director of the International Cooperation Office.
Dr. Ahmed Kamali reviewed the role of the ministry, its objectives, its serious steps in achieving digital transformation, and its positive impact on achieving the objectives of governance and access to the quality of life of citizens.
Kamali referred to the national program for structural reforms and its interest in the real Egyptian economy, focusing on the sectors of agriculture, industry, and information technology. He also referred to the most significant achievements of this program and its positive effects on the Egyptian economy.
For his part, Dr. Tariq Abdeen indicated that the workshop aims to spread the culture and educate students about the most relevant files that are dealt with in practical life, to link the academic side with the practical side, and the academy's keenness to enhance the culture of its students on issues of sustainable development and digital transformation.
Ambassador Hazem Khairat reviewed the role of international relations in improving educational opportunities. He also reviewed the role of education in instilling patriotism and lofty values among students. This reflects positively on the seriousness of work and the achievement of development in all its forms.
Eng. Khaled Mostafa addressed the most critical initiatives that the government oversees. He emphasized the role of the Egypt Award for Government Excellence in stimulating a culture of creativity and excellence among the employees of the administrative apparatus. He pointed to the importance of strategic management in the ministry, and the objectives of the national initiative for smart green projects.
According to Dr. Ghada Khalil, director of The Rowad 2030 (Entrepreneurs 2030), the project's goal is to encourage young people to engage in entrepreneurship. This lowers unemployment through creative ideas that are based on knowing the competitive advantages in each governorate.
Dr. Shaima Siraj, Head of the Equal Opportunities Unit at the Ministry, addressed the institutional stages followed by the unit. She also addressed their compatibility with modern international trends and local requirements.
According to her, equal opportunities are a fundamental element of sustainable development, enabling social justice and aligning with modern global trends that seek to implement the principle of fairness before achieving equal opportunities for all.
Eng. Mohamed Abdel-Azim, Director of the Information Infrastructure Project, pointed out the ministry's efforts to consolidate digital transformation and its positive role in the quality of citizens' lives.
Ms. Aya Nawar, Deputy Head of the Sustainable Development Unit, discussed the steps to modernize Egypt's Vision 2030, and Mr. Sherif El-Hali, Coordinator of the Decent Life Initiative at the Ministry, explained the objectives of the initiative, its stages, and what has been achieved.
Eng. Iman Ragheb, a representative of Egypt's National Institute for Governance and Sustainable Development (NIGSD) discussed the (Be an Ambassador) initiative. He touched on the role of the initiative in spreading awareness among young people about sustainable development issues.
At the end of the workshop, Mr. Tariq Abdel-Khaleq, Advisor to the Minister and Supervisor of Human Resources, referred to the initiative adopted by the Ministry to train university students, welcoming the Academy students to join the next stages of the training opportunities offered by the Ministry.
The workshop was attended by several leaders of the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development. These leaders included Dr. Marwa Tarek, Director of the French Program at the Academy, and Dr. Ahmed Samir, Head of the Economics of Digital and Sustainable Business.
