Dr. Hala El-Said: The project supports capacity-building of youth at the Arab and African levels

Dr. Ghada Khalil, Director of the Rowad 2030 Project of the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development, participated as a member of the Rollo Africa Master jury, which is held under the auspices of the African Union and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP).

Dr. Hala El-Said, Minister of Planning and Economic Development, said that the “Rowad 2030” project was established under the ministry’s umbrella to support building the capacities of youth at the Arab and African levels, developing their skills and enabling them to transform their ideas into projects on the ground.

For her part, Dr. Ghada Khalil explained that Rollo Africa is a business simulation and capacity building program dedicated to supporting small African companies facing challenges after the outbreak of the Corona pandemic.

Khalil indicated that the program consists of three intensive simulation days in which startups learn to manage and operate in a competitive environment within different market horizons.

Khalil added that the selected participants are actively participating in a 3-day BootCamp in which the practical life is simulated, and each team faces a challenge by other teams, noting that the program provides a platform for African entrepreneurs to create ideas and try new strategies.

Khalil added that the conditions for applying in Rollo Africa are that the developed company should be one of the small African companies that have been affected by the Corona pandemic.

The company includes a team of 3 members, the age is not less than 20 and not more than 45 years, and it is a startup that has been operating for more than a year and has less than 10 employees (members).
