The delegation of the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development - for the second day in a row - headed by Dr. Jamil Helmy, assistant minister of planning and economic development for follow-up affairs of the sustainable development plan, and Mr. Mohamed Farid, Assistant Minister for National Projects, continues its field visit to Minya Governorate.
The visit aims to ensure the completion rates and the absence of obstacles in the villages of the presidential initiative "A Decent Life", in addition to ensuring the quality of implementation according to the specified specifications.It also aims to ensure the operation of the completed projects and their entry into service, and identifying the citizens' vision of any other required priority projects.
The visit of the Ministry of Planning delegation included a visit to the village of Awlad Al Sheikh in Maghagha district, which has a population of 9.000.
Dr. Jamil Helmy indicated the number of interventions in Awlad Al-Sheikh village is about 17. It includes 3 schools with 65 classrooms, in addition to raising the efficiency of 67 homes and a health unit in the village, in addition to increasing the capacity of transformers by 400 KVA, paving roads with a length of 1.3 km and water networks of 3 km, explaining that the investments of the completed projects amounted to about 54.1 million.On Wednesday, the delegation of the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development visited the villages of Sheikh Abada, Sheba Island, and Al Amal in Minya Governorate, where the number of interventions in the village of Sheikh Ubada reached 16.The cost of the completed projects in the village is about EGP 28 million, and the target is to serve the village with sanitation, at a total cost for each project reach about EGP 80 million. The number of interventions in Sheba Island is 15, at a total cost of about EGP 77 million.The completed interventions in Minya governorate resulted in two sanitation projects, 3 schools that include 53 classrooms, 1112 lighting poles, 8.7 km of water networks, in addition to paving roads of 4.6 km, 2 youth centers, and 4 A health unit, raising the efficiency of 333 homes, as well as literacy for 53 people, and reaching 2,964 beneficiaries from small enterprise loans.Dr. Jamil Helmy indicated that the quality of life index (the rate of access to basic services in these villages) is targeted to improve on average by 26 percentage points
