The Ministries of Immigration and Planning and Economic Development have agreed to launch a new initiative under the slogan (As’alk El Tayeb)"Your Good Origins", to involve Egyptians abroad as part of the presidential initiative "A Decent Life" to develop the Egyptian countryside.
This is based on coordination between all community initiatives and placing them under one region to maximize benefits from them.
During the coming period, 10 projects will be identified in the targeted villages, in which Egyptians abroad who wish to participate in the initiative can direct support to it, as well as work to include several villages that export illegal immigration, within the targeted villages for development in the “A Decent Life” initiative.
This came during a meeting held by Ambassador Nabila Makram Abdel-Shaheed, Minister of State for Immigration and Egyptian Affairs Abroad, and Dr. Hala El-Said, Minister of Planning and Economic Development, to discuss developments in joint work files between the two ministries.
At the beginning of her speech, the Minister of Immigration reviewed the Ministry’s initiatives with joint action from the Ministry of Planning, including the “Enlighten Your Country” and the “Survival Boats” initiative, as well as integrating Egyptians abroad to participate and cooperate in the presidential initiative “A Decent Life”, by contributing to the development of their villages.
Ambassador Nabila Makram said that the "Nourat Baladak" form, which was presented by the Ministry of Immigration in cooperation with the Ministry of Planning, coinciding with the return of Egyptians abroad affected by the Coronavirus pandemic, has witnessed four stages of development since its introduction until now, to suit all segments of returnees from abroad and to avoid any obstacles that returnees may face while filling out the form.
About what has been done in the presidential initiative, "Life Boats", Ambassador Nabila Makram, Minister of Immigration, explained that work is still ongoing in the implementation of the initiative and achieving its goals.
“Four governorates have been visited (Fayoum, West Buhaira, and Minya), within 14 governorates that are the most exporting of illegal immigration,” She explained.
The "Bidaya Digital" initiative, which aims to train 1,000 young people in electronic professions, was also launched in cooperation with the World Food Program in Egypt and the Arab Academy for Science and Technology, as well as the opening of the Egyptian German Center for Migration, Jobs, and Reintegration, in cooperation with the German Agency for Migration.
For her part, Dr. Hala El-Said, Minister of Planning and Economic Development said that the past period witnessed widespread cooperation with the Ministry of Immigration, especially concerning implementing the initiative to "Nourat Baladk ", as well as the presidential initiative "Survival Boats", which has achieved great success in terms of awareness of immigration risks.
El-Said added that the coming period will witness more cooperation and coordination with the Ministry of Immigration within the framework of developing ways to put forward the "Nourat Baladak" form to ensure that it reaches the largest possible number of the target group.
“It is studied to be presented on an electronic portal and application for the initiative, as well as working to send it via text messages "SMS" while making them suitable for different groups and education levels,” El-Said said.
El-Said also highlighted that both ministries agreed to support small enterprises in the productive villages and other villages exporting to illegal immigration, by training the owners of these projects to develop their products, helping to promote them, and providing what is necessary for the sustainability of these projects.
