Egypt’s NIGSD signs MoU with the Danish embassy in Cairo

The National Institute for Governance and Sustainable Development (NIGSD) and the training arm of the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development signed two memoranda of understanding with the Danish embassy in Cairo and the Danish-Egyptian Dialogue Initiative in Egypt, within the framework of the distinguished and historical relations between Egypt and Denmark.
Minister of Planning and Economic Development, Dr. Hala El-Said explained that the signing of the two memoranda came within the framework of strengthening bilateral relations between the countries of Egypt and Denmark, as well as NIGSD ‘s desire to achieve leadership and creativity in building and developing integrated administrative and technological systems.
Moreover, the signing of the two MoU pays attention to good governance by strengthening the application of the elements of governance in the state’s administrative apparatus, which are transparency, integrity, efficiency, effectiveness, participation, inclusion, rule of law, accountability, and accountability.
El-Said stressed the institute’s keenness to achieve cooperation with the most prominent international institutions to transfer international expertise and enhance human capabilities.For her part, Dr. Sherifa El-Sherif, Executive Director of NIGSD explained that the first memorandum was signed with the Danish embassy in Cairo, and the other was signed between the institute and the Danish-Egyptian Dialogue Initiative in Egypt.
El-Sherif said that the two memorandums include the implementation of several activities to support the development of human capabilities through holding training in some areas, including support for good governance, sustainable development, and a green transition, as well as policy dialogue, organizing workshops, organizing conferences on sustainable development goals, good governance and empowering women.
According to the memorandum, workshops and seminars for stakeholders will be organized according to what is agreed upon between the two parties, in addition to organizing conferences on sustainable development goals, good governance, and best practices.
