Planning Ministry receives an Iraqi government delegation to discuss the exchange of expertise

Egypt’s Ministry of Planning and Economic Development received recently an Iraqi government delegation of officials from the Ministries of Planning, Finance, Labor and Social Affairs in the State of Iraq headed by Dr. Maher Hammad Allam Johan, Undersecretary of the Iraqi Ministry of Planning; This is to learn and benefit from the Egyptian experiences in the field of the planning system; The delegation's visit to Egypt will take place from February 1-5.
The Iraqi delegation began its tour by visiting the building of the Ministry's Spatial Information Infrastructure Center. The delegation was received by Eng. Ashraf Abdel Hafeez, Assistant Minister of Planning for Digital Transformation.
Eng. Ashraf Abdel Hafeez indicated that the spatial information infrastructure project for the benefit of the Egyptian planning system would achieve a set of strategic objectives, including creating an integrated national planning system, achieving the best use of resources, rationalizing government spending, and following up on government projects and investments.
The project will also achieve the exchange of geographical information and data to make them available to government agencies related to geographic information systems, as well as directing development efforts to areas with urgent needs, preserving the state's rights to monitor building violations and encroachment on state lands, and standardizing the specifications used in creating and publishing maps.
The Iraqi delegation inspected the most important activities and works carried out by the center. On top of which comes the use of satellite imaging techniques and technology, aerial photography, and applications for analyzing these images, which result in data that serve the efforts to follow up projects and decision-making, and to provide support for many projects and services provided by the state in various sectors.
After the Iraqi delegation's visit to the Spatial Information Infrastructure Center at the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development ended; the delegation went to visit the building of the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS) and to see the most important projects that the agency offers.
