efforts of the various concerned institutions are integrated by building an
automated and unified judicial system,” Says Hala El-Said
Dr. Hala El-Said, Minister of Planning and Economic
Development, agreed to approve EPG 131 million to reinforce the Ministry of
Communications and Information Technology's plan for the fiscal year 2020/21,
to support the implementation of digital transformation projects, including the
law enforcement system.
El-Said explained that the approved amount came in light of
the state’s tendency to support digital transformation projects in various
sectors, as well as to fully integrate and link the law enforcement system for
optimal operation. This comes as part of the measures taken to speed up completion
and operation of the first and second stages of Law enforcement system under
the directives of the political leadership.
The minister pointed out that the Law Enforcement System
project aims to build an automated and unified judicial system to integrate
efforts of the various concerned institutions. The system will bring together
the largest number of parties responsible for achieving justice. It will work
to provide all litigants' services in the fastest time and with minimal effort.
El-Said added that the law enforcement system takes place
through the automation of courts across Egypt and linking them electronically
to several ministries and relevant stakeholders, to achieve prompt justice
using information technology.
The cost of the Law Enforcement System project is EGP 262
million. The project's first phase is concerned with the Ministry of Justice by
activating the unified judicial system in 47 courts, including 5 courts of
appeal in the governorates of Ismailia, Port Said, Suez, and Marsa Matrouh. It
also includes the Alexandria and Ismailia economic courts, and 7 courts of the
first instance, most notably of which is the New Cairo Court of First Instance.
Furthermore, the project includes 33 primary missions and Cantonal Courts in
Cairo and the governorates of Delta and Western-Egypt.
