On the occasion of the celebration of International Children's Day: The Ministry of Planning and Economic Development issued a report on the role of Plan 2023/22 in taking into account children's rights.

The Ministry of Planning and Economic Development issued recently a report on the national strategy for human rights. It also included the role of the investment plan for the year 2022/2023 in achieving children's rights.This came on the occasion of the celebration of World Children's Day, which is celebrated this year under the slogan "Inclusion, for every child".H.E. Dr. Hala El-Said, Minister of Planning and Economic Development, said that the Egyptian state is keen to adopt an inclusive approach to its population policies, based on a firm belief that the human being is the focus and goal of development.El-Said explained that one of the main principles for dealing with the population issue is to manage it from a comprehensive development perspective.She further indicated that the national project for the development of the Egyptian family was formulated according to this inclusive perspective. As part of this perspective, the demographic characteristics of all individuals without discrimination, including children, should be improved.For his part, Dr. Muhammad Alaa, Head of the Human Rights Unit at the Ministry, referred to the most prominent objectives of the National Strategy for Human Rights and the role of the investment plan for the year 2022/2023 in achieving them about children's rights, and the initiatives that were taken in this regard on a participatory basis.Alaa explained that the ministry is working to achieve the goals and pillars of the national strategy for human rights, especially the second pillar which is "economic, social and cultural rights", the third pillar "the human rights of women, children, persons with disabilities, youth and the elderly", and the fourth pillar "education and capacity building in the field of human rights".The report of the Ministry of Planning indicated that the state aims to implement many development projects and programs related to children's rights. According to the report, the investment plan 22/2023 included several ambitious projects that aimed to protect children's rights, improve their access to the state's opportunities and protection tools, and enhance their lives without discrimination.A report from the Ministry of Planning referred to the national project for the development of the countryside in Egypt, "A Decent Life", which contributes to the accomplishment of the goal of the National Strategy for Human Rights, which sets the principle of the paramount interest of the child as the paramount consideration in all dealings with children.The report also indicated that the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development had adopted many initiatives, programs, and projects in the field of human rights. These initiatives, programs, and projects focus on the governance of public spending and affirm the protection and guarantee of the most vulnerable groups’ rights. These initiatives include the launch of the "Conceptual guide for a sustainable development plan that responds to different social groups."
