COP27 Highlights:Egypt’s Minister of Planning discusses ways of cooperation in the "Decent Life for Africa" initiative with FAO representative

H.E. Dr. Hala El-Said, Minister of Planning and Economic Development, met with Ms. Maria Helena Semedo, Deputy Director ‐ General Natural Resources, FAO to discuss ways of cooperation.
This came on the sidelines of the activities of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP27), which Egypt is hosting in Sharm El-Sheikh from November 7-18.
The meeting discussed the areas of work of the organization and the confirmation of the consistency of the objectives of the "A decent life for an Africa resilient in the framework of climate change" initiative with the areas of work of the organization and their readiness to provide support in the implementation of the initiative.
During the meeting, Dr. Hala El-Said reviewed the Ministry's fields of work and the main projects it adopts, including the national project for the development of the Egyptian family, which aims to control the rapid growth rates and improve the characteristics of the population, and the national initiative for smart green projects, which aims to provide Egyptian solutions from all governorates to the problems of climate change.
The Minister of Planning and Economic Development affirmed that Egypt's hosting of the COP 27 Climate Summit in Sharm El-Sheikh supports opening the door to more opportunities for cooperation and partnerships, expanding the scope of collective green recovery, and mobilizing all stakeholders to participate effectively in climate action.
