Dr. Hala El-Said, Minister of Planning and Economic Development, held an extensive meeting to follow up on the executive position of the National Initiative for Smart Green Projects, and to follow up on the latest preparations for a ceremony to announce the winning projects, which is scheduled to be held on Thursday, November 3rd.
During the meeting, El-Said discussed the preparations that were implemented in preparation for holding a conference announcing the winning projects within the initiative, which is scheduled to participate in the COP27 Conference of Parties that Egypt will host in November in Sharm El-Sheikh.
Dr. Hala El-Said said that the national initiative for smart green projects is being implemented in the Arab Republic of Egypt governorates, as a pioneering initiative in the field of sustainable and smart development and dealing with the environmental dimension of the effects of climate change.
El-Said added that this is done by developing a map at the governorate level for smart green projects and attracting the necessary investments for them.
El-Said explained that the initiative comes within the framework of the current efforts to chair and host the COP27, as well as efforts to achieve sustainable development in the context of implementing Egypt's Vision 2030 and the implementation of the National Climate Change Strategy 2050.
Dr. Hala El-Said stressed the importance of providing the necessary supplies for the conference to come out most effectively, as well as preparing arrangements for the initiative's participation in the Conference of the Parties and presenting the 18 projects that were selected by the jury of the project at its last meeting.
El-Said noted that among the objectives of the initiative is to present an unprecedented initiative globally that focuses on implementation and implementation on the ground.
El-Said pointed out the need for this to be done while emphasizing the seriousness of dealing with the environmental dimension and climate change within the framework of achieving SDGs and digital transformation by presenting projects that achieve those goals.
