The Rowad 2030 project of the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development issued the annual report for the project for the year ending 2020, which includes the most prominent developments of the project during the year.

 

Dr. Hala El-Said, Minister of Planning and Economic Development, explained that the launch of the Rowad 2030 project aimed at enabling young people to establish their projects and work to devote and support the role of entrepreneurship in the development of the national economy, in addition to diversifying sources of income through the implementation of the project axes.

El-Said added that the project was able to contribute to the provision of many services, which included educational scholarships and obtaining a master's degree to study the field of entrepreneurship on a deeper and wider scale, as well as its contribution to supporting and establishing business incubators for emerging companies that offer new ideas in the labor market.

On her part, Dr. Ghada Khalil, Director of the” Rowad 2030” project, explained that one of the main objectives of the project is to stimulate and enrich the culture of innovation and entrepreneurship in Egypt by setting up an integrated system for innovation so that it becomes a fundamental pillar of the state to achieve Egypt's vision 2030.

Khalil indicated that one of the most important developments of the Rowad 2030 project during the year 2020 is the” Rowad Meter” platform, which was launched in February 2020, explaining that it is a platform that provides data and key indicators on entrepreneurship in Egypt, so that these indicators are directly related and constantly updated with business incubators to display data on activities Entrepreneurship in Egypt.

The annual report of the “Rowad 2030” project reviewed the most prominent achievements of the project during the year ending 2020, as the report pointed to the participation in the graduation ceremony of the first batch of the Professional Master’s Program in Entrepreneurship and Innovation Management in academic cooperation with the Universities of Cairo and Cambridge.


 In addition to the holding of a graduation ceremony for the first batch of the "Professional Certificate in Entrepreneurship" program, implemented in cooperation between the Ministry's Pioneers 2030 project, and the German University in Cairo, where 100 young people were graduated from the beginning of the road, to become entrepreneurs and actively contribute to achieving the country's goals of economic and social development.

Among the most prominent of what has been presented by the “2030 Pioneers” project during the year was also the opening of the door for the introduction of the AI incubator in its headquarters at the Universities of Alexandria and Ain Shams.

Moreover, the acceptance of six projects for incubation, in addition to holding several discussion sessions in the field of tourism in the presence of several experts in this field.

This is within the activities of the Mashreq incubator, where about 19 projects were incubated within the Mashreq incubator, in addition to the project manufacturing 35,000 face shields through the mini-factory at the Nile Pioneers initiative at Nile University.

The report pointed to the launch of the campaign (Start your future) at the university level in 8 universities electronically, in cooperation with the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology, which included the universities of Kafr el-sheik, Matrouh, Luxor, Benha, and New Valley, as well as the University of Egypt for e-learning, at the Al-Shorouk Academy, at the Institute of Tebbin.

The “Rowad 2030 project”, according to the report, created so-called entrepreneur episodes entitled "Adam Series", which included the presentation of 30 episodes of a cartoon series that embodies the story of the transfer of an entrepreneur from a young man with an idea to a young man who owns a successful company. The series was shown through social media platforms.

The cultural activities of the project also included the launch of the so-called “Entrepreneur Capsules”, which were represented by several videos provided by a group of experts in the field of entrepreneurship as advice for entrepreneurs, in addition to broadcasting the episodes of Studio Rowad, and the launch of the online magazine for 2030 Pioneers.

The year 2020 also witnessed the completion of the implementation of the “Rowad 2030” application to become available through the Android and iPhone systems.

The application aims to continuously communicate with entrepreneurs to help them start their business and get to know the institutions and bodies that support entrepreneurship in Egyp.

 It also contains news about entrepreneurship in Egypt in general and the Rowad 2030 project in particular.

 

In 2020, the Rowad 2030 project was able to design an electronic assessment that acts as an alternative to personal interviews to select students applying for scholarships, which allowed access to a greater number of young people.

The report also included the most prominent activities in which the project participated, which included participation in the She Can conference, which includes female entrepreneurs with small and medium enterprises in Egypt and the Arab world, where the number of participants reached 6000 women, entrepreneurs, and business owners in various fields.

The project also participated in the entrepreneurship education session, in which it was indicated that the project works to support entrepreneurship by releasing the creative energies of young people and helping them create jobs and job opportunities for themselves and their colleagues to contribute to reducing unemployment rates.

The project also participated in another session entitled "Innovation in the field of tourism", in which it was stressed the need to consolidate innovation in the field of tourism, as it is one of the important sectors that affect economic development significantly. It was also pointed out that the Pioneers 2030 project entered into a partnership with the Arab Academy For science, technology, and maritime transport to establish the Mashreq business incubator.

The project’s participation also included holding an awareness session for young people entitled “Entrepreneurship and E-Marketing” to raise awareness of the importance of entrepreneurship, the culture of self-employment, and the role of e-marketing in the success of entrepreneurs' projects with the participation of specialists in the field.

During the year, the project held a workshop for women in Nubia under the title "The Land of Gold and the Foundations for Marketing of Handicrafts for Nubian Women" for the second year in a row in the presence of more than 100 Nubian women at the Society's headquarters in West Suhail, and the Pioneers 2030 project was also honored by ICSB at the closing ceremony of the week Al Alamiah Entrepreneurship about the project’s role in supporting entrepreneurs and the effort made in Entrepreneurship Week.

The project also participated in the activities of the Entrepreneurial League Final at Al-Azhar University, where the Rowad 2030 project was honored during the event, the E-youth conference, as well as the Business Conference.

 

“Rowad 2030” also participated in a series of discussion sessions in the tourism sector, which included a discussion session on entrepreneurship during and after Covid-19 problems and solutions, and more than 31 thousand people were reached, as well as a discussion session on the tourism sector variables in light of the Corona crisis, and more than 4,500 people.

  

 In addition to a discussion session on how to deal with the crisis of the tourism sector, more than 3,500 people were reached, and others on the future of tourism after Covid 19 and opportunities after the crisis, and more than 1,500 people were reached. Dr. Ghada also participated as a speaker in some discussion sessions, as well as the project. In the ICSB session.

 

Project 2030 presented several discussion sessions via the Internet, the most prominent of which was the discussion session on intellectual property rights and patents for emerging companies, which was presented in cooperation with the Patent Office for Youth on how to preserve intellectual property rights and the steps for registration and documentation of ideas and their development to reach a society capable of producing Ideas and innovations and use them effectively to achieve the comprehensive development of society.

 

 In addition to the series of discussion sessions that were held via the video conference feature on "Entrepreneurship and Economic Development", which were held for eight consecutive days, under the patronage and presence of Dr. Hala El-Said, Minister of Planning and Economic Development, with the participation of a group of ministers and specialists in the field of entrepreneurship.
