Minister of Planning & Economic Development witnesses the launch of the Egyptian Statistical Observatory "Bayanat Misr"

H.E. Dr. Hala El-Said, Egypt’s Minister of Planning and Economic Development, witnessed recently the launch of the Egyptian Statistical Observatory entitled "Bayanat Misr" (Egypt’s Data).
"Bayanat Misr" is released by CAPMS (Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics).
During her speech, Dr. Hala El-Said explained that the observatory is the fruit of the continuous effort and work of the CAPMS team.
El-Said noted that "Bayanat Misr" represents a new statistical product in the valuable statistical work series carried out by CAPMS.
El-Said added that accurate, high-quality statistical data represents an essential part of the country's national and knowledge wealth, which is no less important than the infrastructure it owns.
El-Said noted that statistical data plays a key role in evidence-based development planning.
She further noted that statistical data is a tool for evaluating and monitoring performance.
El-Said asserted that the statistical observatory, "Bayanat Misr" comes in support of the concept of making data available to all, enhancing the citizen's right to know, and activating the role of the CAPMS in spreading statistical awareness among all members of society.
El-Said added that the observatory is planned to be linked later to some universities and public squares in the governorates, as it contributes to maximizing the benefit of the data provided by the device, which includes the results of the population and housing.
El-Said noted that the data presented by the observatory also reflect the challenges facing the state's efforts to achieve comprehensive development.
