Egypt's Minister of Planning appoints Mona Essam as assistant for Sustainable Development Affairs

H.E. Dr. Hala El-Said, Minister of Planning and Economic Development, issued on Tuesday a decision to appoint Dr. Mona Essam as Assistant Minister for Sustainable Development Affairs.
Dr. Hala El-Said stressed the importance of hiring distinguished talents and cadres to benefit from their expertise in the field of work.
For her part, Dr. Mona Essam, Assistant Minister of Planning and Economic Development for Sustainable Development Affairs, expressed her thanks and gratitude for this precious trust, stressing that the sustainable development file focuses primarily on improving the quality of life for citizens, pledging to continue working to achieve the desired goals.
Dr. Mona Essam pointed out that the Sustainable Development Goals represent a comprehensive roadmap that seeks to improve the quality of life in a sustainable way for future generations.
It is noteworthy that Dr. Mona Essam holds a Ph.D. in Economics – The Faculty of Economics and Political Science, Cairo University, and worked as a professor in the Department of Economics in the same faculty.
She has many published research papers, as well as worked as an assistant professor at the Faculty of Business Administration at the American University in Cairo.
Dr. Mona Essam also held many positions, as she worked as a consultant at the Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA), as a fellow at the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology at the Council of Economic and Administrative Sciences, and as a member of the Advisory Board of the International Journal of Euro-Mediterranean Studies.
Moreover, she held the position of Deputy Director of the Center for Research and Economic Studies and Finance at Cairo University and as a head of the Sustainable Development Unit at the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development, supervising the modernization of Egypt’s Vision 2030.
