NIGSD launches the TOT phase of the "Green Minds" initiative

The National Institute for Governance and Sustainable Development (NIGSD) - the training arm of the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development - launched the TOT phase in cooperation with WellSpring Egypt.
The TOT phase aims to qualify trainers of the "Green Minds" initiative, which seeks to spread awareness and promote sustainable behavior to combat climate change; Children, and students in schools.
Dr. Sherifa Sherif, Executive Director of NIGSD, said that the Green Minds initiative aims, in its first phase, to train about 1,500 students at the level of five different schools in Cairo Governorate.Sherif added that the initiative adopts a comprehensive methodology that ensures that each child and student, according to their educational stage, is encouraged to build sustainable behavior and to be supportive of the environment in its various social circles.



Dr. Sherifa Sherif explained that the TOT training phase within the framework of the Green Minds initiative includes training 40 distinguished trainees from the "Be an Ambassador" initiative for sustainable development, where they are trained on the foundations of learning by experience, interactive education, and building games and activities.




For his part, Mr. Maged Fawzy, Founder and Chairman of Well Spring Egypt, said that the company has been working for more than a year to raise children's awareness of climate issues, and how to adopt positive behaviors to reduce climate damage, by meaningfully engaging children in educational activities and games in new ways.
