Tanzanian Ambassador in Cairo praises NIGSD’s African Women Leaders Program

The Tanzanian Ambassador to Cairo, Emmanuel Nchimbe, hosted Dr. Hanan Rizk, Director of the African Development Center of the National Institute for Governance and Sustainable Development (NIGSD), the General Coordinator of the African Women Leaders Program and members of the Tanzanian delegation participating in the training activities in Cairo.
The meeting came on the sidelines of the fourth edition of the African Women Leaders Program on Climate Change, which was hosted by the Egyptian government from 13 to 19 September 2022.
The Ambassador praised the African Women Leaders Training Program as one of the important regional initiatives provided by the Egyptian Ministry of Planning and Economic Development, which works to empower African women and support them to play an effective role in achieving the goals of the African continent’s Agenda for Sustainable Development 2063.
The trainees expressed the extent to which they benefited from the various topics of the program, which will enable them to discuss the possibility of implementing the successful initiatives and projects that have been highlighted in the areas of joint climate action, women's empowerment, anti-corruption, and good governance applications.
Notably, the training of African women leaders in Cairo lasted for five consecutive days and was attended by 58 women from twenty African countries who hold high positions in various African government agencies and public universities, as well as representatives of the African Peer Review Mechanism.
