Egypt's Initiative for Smart Green Projects announces the winning projects in the governorates of Dakahlia, Sharkia, and Damietta

Egypt’s Ministry of Planning and Economic Development announced on Tuesday the results of the six winning projects of the National Initiative for Smart Green Projects in Dakahlia, Sharkia, and Damietta governorates.
This announcement came during the conference that was held today in Dakahlia Governorate, in the presence of Eng. Khaled Mustafa, Permanent Undersecretary of the Ministry of Planning and supervisor of the Egypt Award for Governmental Excellence, Dr. Ayman Mokhtar, Governor of Dakahlia, Dr. Mamdouh Ghorab, Governor of Sharkia, Dr. Manal Awad, Governor of Damietta, and representatives of the Ministry local development.
During his speech, Eng. Khaled Mustafa said that this event represents an essential step within the steps of the National Initiative for Smart Green Projects, which was launched last August under the patronage of the President of the Republic, with the unprecedented participation of many government agencies and all sectors of society.
The Permanent Undersecretary of the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development stressed that Egypt sends, through this initiative, a clear message to all countries of the world that hosting the Cop 27 Climate Conference next February in Sharm El Sheikh is not just a spatial hosting of an event, but also an affirmation of the Egyptian state’s role in providing realistic Egyptian solutions to the problems of climate change and the environment.
Eng. Khaled Mostafa explained that Egypt is one of the least contributing countries to harmful emissions affecting climate change, but it is among the 20 countries affected by these changes, stressing that Egypt is working at all levels to meet these challenges and raise positive awareness of climate issues.
Among the winning projects from Dakahlia Governorate is the project to register the project of treatment, recycling, and safe sanitary landfill services for municipal solid waste in Dakahlia Governorate in the UNFCCC under the umbrella of CDM projects.
