NIGSD, OECD discuss the implementation of the governance projects’ pillar in the Egypt country program
03 October 2022
The National Institute for Governance and Sustainable Development (NIGSD) held a meeting with the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), via video conference, as part of the implementation of the governance and anti-corruption axis of the Egypt country program with the organization.
Dr. Sherifa Sherif, Executive Director of NIGSD, said that relations between the Arab Republic of Egypt and the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development have expanded and deepened over the past years.
This led Egypt to be one of the first participants and supporters to launch the organization's initiative for the Middle East and North Africa region on governance and competitiveness for development.
Sherif pointed out that the preparation of the country program allows Egypt to benefit from technical support in various fields, which helps improve Egypt's position in various economic, social, and environmental indicators, as well as grants access to a network of international experts and best international practices.
Representatives of NIGSD discussed with representatives of OCED during the meeting the implementation plans of some projects that come within the framework of the program’s governance and anti-corruption axis.
