The Center for Sustainable Development of the National Institute for Governance and Sustainable Development (NIGSD) - the training arm of the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development - has released a dictionary on climate change.
The dictionary includes terms used in the field of climate, and the most important international and local agreements and treaties concluded in order to limit the causes of climate change.
Dr. Sherifa Sharif, Executive Director of NIGSD, said that the dictionary comes in light of the institute's awareness of the importance of climate change and in response to international interest in the issue of climate change.
The dictionary also comes within the framework of Egypt's hosting of the COP 27 Climate Change Conference in Sharm El-Sheikh next November.
The Executive Director of the National Institute for Governance and Sustainable Development also confirmed that all these efforts are primarily aimed at enhancing awareness among everyone about climate-related matters, and creating awareness in general of the challenges that can be faced in this regard.
It is noteworthy that the Climate Change Dictionary includes four parts; The first part covers the regulation and history of managing climate change internationally, and the second part is about key terms and concepts related to climate change and its management.
The third part of the dictionary includes climate change laws and treaties in Egypt, and the fourth part reviews the most prominent national projects and investment mechanisms in clean energy.
