Planning Ministry announces the inclusion of the “electronic system for pursuing a decent life” and the application of “Shareq 2030” at the United Nations UNDESA

The Ministry of Planning and Economic Development succeeded in including the “electronic system for following up on projects of the Decent Life Initiative” and the application of “Shareq 2030” of the Ministry through the “Initiatives to Accelerate Achieving Sustainable Development Goals” platform of the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UNDESA).
H.E. Dr. Hala El-Said , Minister of Planning and Economic Development, pointed out the importance the ministry attaches to cooperation and coordination with development partners, stressing that sustainable development is a shared responsibility among all.
El-Said praised the efforts of government agencies, the private sector, and civil society in achieving sustainable development in Egypt and their quick response, which helped the ministry to succeed in listing their initiatives through the "Initiatives to Accelerate the Achieving Sustainable Development Goals" platform of the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs.
El-Said explained that the practices are adopted and disseminated by UNDESA according to a set of criteria represented in that the practice is targeted to serve one or more international goals, takes into account the three dimensions of sustainable development, and that the results of the initiative are clearly defined and measurable.
For his part, Dr. Jamil Helmy, Assistant Minister of Planning and General Supervisor of the "Decent Life" project confirmed that the Ministry of Planning has designed a follow-up system for the "Decent Life" project to monitor, follow up and evaluate the impact of all state interventions in the Egyptian countryside.
For her part, Dr. Mona Essam, Head of the Sustainable Development Unit at the Ministry of Planning, indicated that the unit had coordinated with various authorities to monitor national initiatives that contribute to achieving sustainable development goals.
It also succeeded in including the "Supply System" of the Ministry of Supply and Internal Trade, and the "Nile Pioneers" initiative of the Central Bank of Egypt as a set of initiatives that work to accelerate the achievement of sustainable development goals, in coordination with the Ministry of Supply and Internal Trade and the Central Bank of Egypt.
