1st phase of The National Initiative for Smart Green Projects reaches end: Planning Minister

H.E. Dr. Hala El-Said, Minister of Planning and Economic Development, announced that the number of projects that applied for the National Initiative for Smart Green Projects, which comes under the patronage of President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi, reached 6,281 projects representing all governorates of the Republic, after closing the door for progress for the initiative.
El-Said said that by closing the door for progress on projects, the first phases of the initiative will have been completed successfully, so that the current phase, which is the stage of evaluating the advanced projects from the governorates, will begin according to the percentages of fulfillment and the conditions and standards set.
El-Said indicated that the evaluation electronic platform was designed, which includes the evaluation tool and a mechanism for keeping the documents used during the evaluation process, and the methods of using them on the initiative's electronic system.
El-Said thanked the governors for the positive interaction, cooperation, and quick dealings, and for directing the executive committees of projects in each governorate to work during the project progress stage.
El-Said confirmed that the final statistics of projects' participation in the initiative reflect the extent of interest and awareness of it.
El-Said pointed out that several training courses and workshops were held in the governorates - through physical and remote attendance - to introduce the goals of the initiative and its working mechanisms.
The Minister of Planning clarified that Gharbia Governorate comes at the forefront of the governorates in terms of the number of projects developed in the initiative, with a total of 1,277 projects, and that Cairo Governorate ranks first in terms of completion and completion of projects.
On his part, Ambassador Hisham Badr, General Coordinator of the initiative, confirmed; This initiative is unprecedented at the national and global levels.
Badr explained that the initiative's philosophy is based on enabling all governorates and localities in Egypt to be empowered and to reach different social and geographical groups to participate in the presentation of their projects and that these projects stem from the whole of Egyptian society.
Ambassador Hisham Badr explained that for the first time in Egypt, we have a database of smart green projects, as each governorate currently has full information about its green projects.
Badr announced that a national conference will be held in Cairo for 162 projects representing all governorates to be liquidated in the final to 18 projects (3 projects in each category), and the final results will be announced at COP 27.
Ambassador Hisham Badr pointed out that Cairo is at the forefront of the governorates concerning the total number of advanced projects in the category of large projects, with several 98 projects, as well as in the category of medium projects with a total of 175 projects, and the category of startup projects with a total of 150 projects.
Gharbia Governorate is also at the forefront of the governorates in the category of small local projects with a total of 209 projects, in the non-profit projects category with a total of 640 projects, as well as in the category of development projects related to women, climate change, and sustainability with a total of 186 projects.
