Egypt's Minister of Planning and Economic Development, Dr. Hala El-Said agreed to approve EGP 78.7 million for the Lake Mariout purification project in Alexandria governorate as part of the current fiscal year 2020/21 plan.

El-Said added that the project to purify Lake Mariout, south of Alexandria, is one of the integrated development projects that the governorate has witnessed.El-Said explained that the project comes in the implementation of the directives of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, as he stressed the need for these lakes to return to their previous status.
