Egypt’s NIGSD holds the final symposium in a series of seminars on empowering women in Africa

Egypt’s NIGSD - the training arm of the Ministry of Planning
and Economic Development - in cooperation with the American University in Cairo
(AUC) and the Egyptian Observatory for Women in the Boards of Directors held
the 3rd and last seminar in a series of seminars on empowering women in Egypt
and Africa, which was held via the Internet with the participation of women
leaders from different ministries from Egypt and the African continent.
Dr. Hala El-Said, Minister of Planning and Economic
Development, explained that the series of seminars for empowering women in
Egypt and Africa comes within the framework of a series of interactive distance
learning workshops and a continuation of the training efforts of the Institute,
which it provides to brothers on the African continent through the training
network of management institutes in Africa "Tanmia".
El-Said added that Egypt’s NIGSD had launched an initiative
to create an African network of management and training institutes during the
first African Forum on Governance and Development in April 2019, to be a unique
platform linking all African countries through training and management
institutes, coordination, exchange of experiences and interaction between them
and the formation of effective partnerships, whether these institutes are
governmental, non-governmental or private.
For her part, Dr. Sharifa Sherif, Executive Director of
NIGSD, indicated that “Tanmia” network aims to exchange experiences, activate
and spread the principles of governance and sustainable development at the
level of the African continent, as well as its role in achieving the goals of
Egypt Vision 2030 and Africa Agenda 2063.
Al-Sharif pointed out that the network includes in its
membership the graduates of the African Women Leaders Program, which was held
in Cairo last January, with the presence of 94 women who occupy senior management
positions from 35 different African countries.
The themes of the first symposium included referring to
several topics, including the new role played by NIGSD to spread the principles
of governance and contribute to improving Egypt's position in international
indicators related to governance, competitiveness, and sustainable development,
in addition to referring to the African “development” network as a leading
platform and knowledge center that works on maximizing the outcome of
cooperation to achieve good governance and sustainable development in Africa.
The second symposium also dealt with a set of topics,
including the importance of marketing through social media, the components of a
social media marketing plan, studying and analyzing the current situation on
social media platforms, and how to apply the marketing strategy practically on
various social media sites, in addition to identifying tools and channels
Digital Marketing, focusing on innovation in the marketing plan, in addition to
the main goals of digital marketing.
