Egypt’s Minister of Planning approves an additional fund of EGP 200 million for the new surgeries hospital at Tanta University

Egypt’s Minister of Planning and Economic Development, Dr. Hala El-Said approved on Sunday an additional fund of EGP 200 million to equip the new surgical hospital at Tanta University.El-Said explained that the approval of accreditation came within the framework of the ministry’s keenness to support the health system and projects related to citizen’s health, as it is a priority on the Egyptian government's work agenda.El-Said explained that the total cost of the project amounted to EGP one billion, including EGP 615 million for construction and EGP 400 million for medical and non-medical equipment, noting that the project works are scheduled to be completed and the opening in mid-2021.El-Said pointed out the importance of the surgical hospital project at the University of Tanta, explaining that it is one of the university's national projects, in addition to being a shift in the medical field for the Gharbia Governorate and the neighboring governorates, as it represents the product of accurate studies and a comprehensive survey of the needs of citizens in Gharbia and Central Delta in all surgical specialties, as it was equipped at the highest medical and scientific level to serve the community and contribute to improving the level of health service for patients.The New Surgery Hospital at Tanta University consists of a basement and ground floor, and (9) floors with an area of 1,200 square meters for the floor and the first and second floors contain 20 operating rooms and 65 intensive care beds, while the remaining floors contain 605 beds.
