This came within the framework of the Egyptian state's leading role in the field of sustainable development, and the importance the state attaches to settling sustainable development goals at the governorate level, and given the great turnout witnessed by the initiative from projects to participate in it at the level of various governorates.
Dr. Hala El-Said explained that the total number of projects submitted so far exceeded 2000 projects at the level of the six categories of the initiative and the level of all governorates of the Republic.

It is worth noting that the Prime Minister had issued Resolution No. 2738 of 2022 regarding the launch of a national initiative for smart green projects in the governorates of the Republic, in preparation for Egypt's hosting of the Conference of the States Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change COP 27; to emphasize the state's efforts in dealing with the environmental dimension and climate change.
