Egypt’s NIGSD Runs a seminar to raise awareness of sustainable development and Egypt's Vision 2030

The National Institute for Governance and Sustainable Development (NIGSD), the training arm of the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development, held an introductory symposium on awareness of sustainable development and Egypt’s Vision 2030 for summer training students from the Faculty of Science, Petroleum Engineering and Mining from various universities in Egypt, who were trained at the Petroleum Research Institute of the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources.
Dr. Sherifa Sherif, Executive Director of NIGSD, stressed that investing in the human element is one of the most important priorities of the Egyptian state because it is the basis of construction and development.
Sherif explained that human resource development has become a cornerstone for achieving comprehensive future development, especially since the human element has proven to be the main and effective element in every development plan in any country, so its training and qualification are a top priority.
Sherif referred to the efforts of the National Institute for Governance and Sustainable Development to enhance knowledge, skills, and competitive capabilities to achieve Egypt's Vision 2030.
Sherif stated that the symposium aims to identify the concept of sustainable development and the 2030 strategy and its impact on the objectives of the institution, pointing to the participation of 192 students in the symposium.
During the symposium, Professor Radwa Mohsen, Deputy Director of the Center for Sustainable Development at the National Institute for Governance and Sustainable Development, emphasized the goals of sustainable development, such as ending poverty, protecting the planet, and ensuring that all people enjoy peace and prosperity by 2030, as well as working on a balance between social, economic and environmental sustainability.
The symposium dealt with several pillars of the concept of sustainable development, sustainable development goals, the 2030 strategy, in addition to the concept of strategic planning, the concept of management by goals, in addition to the relationship between sustainable development and the 2030 strategy to the goals of the institution, in addition to the practical application of the goals of institutions.
