The Ministry of Planning and Economic Development holds a workshop on "Estimating the Cost of Implementing the UN Goals"

The Ministry of Planning and Economic Development represented by the Sustainable Development Unit, in cooperation with the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), held a workshop on "SDGs Costing".
This is within the framework of the cooperation between the Ministry of Planning and the Joint SDG Fund on the project of the Sustainable Development Goals Financing Strategy in Egypt.
Dr. Mona Essam, Head of the Sustainable Development Unit, said in her opening speech that the main objective of the workshop is to create a fruitful dialogue platform between all national parties concerned with the file.
She also stressed the importance of the active participation of all parties present, as the workshop is the first step to coming up with the most important technical comments and recommendations, so that the relevant experts can build on the current results and estimate the cost in a more accurate, realistic and appropriate manner for the current development scene in Egypt.
The workshop included two main parts, the first was to train the authorities on how to calculate the cost of achieving the Sustainable Development Goals in Egypt (SDG Costing), with a focus on the methodology adopted by the United Nations Development Program.
It is noteworthy that the project "Estimating the cost of implementing the UN goals" is one of the sub-components under the umbrella of the project of financing the sustainable development goals in Egypt, and focuses on estimating and calculating the cost of achieving the UN sustainable development goals in Egypt.
