Egypt’s Minister of Planning directs the formation of committees for the National Initiative for Green Projects

The Ministry of Planning and Economic Development, in coordination with the Ministry of Environment and the Ministry of Local Development, began forming and holding committees for the National Initiative for Smart Green Projects in the governorates of the Republic, and addressing all governorates of the Republic to participate and nominate projects during the coming days.H.E. Dr. Hala El-Said, Egypt’s Minister of Planning and Economic Development and supervisor of the initiative stressed the importance of the initiative, which extends to all governorates of Egypt.
El-Said explained that the initiative comes within the framework of Egypt's leading role in the sustainable development field.She further noted that the Egyptian government attaches importance to the localization of sustainable development goals at the governorate level.
El-Said indicated that it is an unprecedented initiative at the global level, as it focuses on implementation and implementation on the ground.
Moreover, she said that the initiative emphasizes the seriousness of dealing with the environmental dimension and climate change within the framework of achieving sustainable development goals and digital transformation by presenting projects that achieve those goals.
El-Said drew attention to the development of a map at the level of Egypt's governorates for green and smart projects, linking them to financing bodies and attracting the necessary investments for them.
The Minister of Planning and Economic Development explained that the initiative aims mainly at achieving balanced regional development, settling sustainable development goals, and achieving Egypt's 2030 vision in dealing with climate change and environmental challenges through projects achieved on the ground.
