The Minister of Planning and Economic Development participates in the opening ceremony of the African Human Rights Moot Court at the British University in Egypt

H.E. Dr. Hala El-Said, Minister of Planning and Economic Development, participated - by default - in the opening ceremony of the African Human Rights Moot Court at the British University in Egypt (BUE).
During her speech, Dr. Hala El-Said thanked Dr. Hassan Abdel Hamid, Dean of the Faculty of Law at the British University in Egypt.
El-Said pointed out that this competition is unique not only at the regional level but also at the global level. The competition represents a strategic platform for building bridges of communication between all African countries, especially with the volume of participation and the presence of representatives from about 30 African countries.
El-Said added that this competition is in line with the efforts of the Egyptian state and its keenness to enhance cooperation with its brothers from African countries to achieve comprehensive and sustainable development and promote human rights principles in all state plans and Egypt's Vision 2030.
The Minister of Planning affirmed Egypt's pride in its African affiliation, and its keenness to positively interact with all issues of the continent in all development fields, and in the field of exchanging experiences and successful experiences in these areas, noting the state's consideration of the compatibility between Egypt's Vision 2030, Africa's Agenda 2063, and the UN goals for sustainable development 2030.
El-Said reviewed the programs and activities in support of capacity-building on the continent carried out by state institutions, including the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development, referring to the "Youth for Development" initiative, which is carried out through the National Institute for Sustainable Development Governance - the training arm of the Ministry - in cooperation with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. Represented in the Supreme Council of Universities.
Dr. Hala El-Said continued that the "Youth for Development" initiative is integrated with other development initiatives, such as the "Be an Ambassador" initiative, which began in October 2020, and this initiative aims to spread the culture of sustainable development among Egyptian youth, in addition to launching the "Climate Ambassadors" initiative, which aims to spread the culture of sustainable development among Egyptian youth. To promote awareness of climate issues and challenges.
El-Said added that the state is working on making graduates of the "Be an Ambassador" and "Climate Ambassadors" initiatives ambassadors of what they have learned among their colleagues in different governorates, and universities, and within the scope of their work.
El-Said indicated the aspiration to extend this to the brothers in African countries - in implementation of the peer-to-peer learning method, in addition to training these ambassadors to provide interactive activities and training for school students in the preparatory and secondary periods, Green Minds.
The Minister of Planning and Economic Development explained that Egypt has launched a new strategy to combat and prevent illegal immigration and human trafficking for the period (2026-2021), which is consistent with Egypt Vision 2030 and the development programs and initiatives implemented by the Egyptian state.
