Within the framework of the National Program for Women in Leadership: The National Council for Women and the National Institute of Governance conclude the “Strengthening Skills for Success” workshop

The National Council for Women (NCW), in cooperation with the National Institute for Governance and Sustainable Development (NIGSD) - the training arm of the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development, concluded the "Strengthening Skills for Success" workshop.
This comes within the framework of the implementation of the "National Program for Women in Leadership" by the NIGSD and NCW in partnership with the European Union (EU), and in cooperation with the International Training Center of the International Labor Organization.
The workshop was held over three days, for the first batch of 150 trainees.
During the workshop, Dr. Naglaa El-Adly, Head of External Communications and International Relations Department at the National Council for Women, expressed her sincere thanks and appreciation to the Minister of Planning and Economic Development Dr. Hala El-Said, for her role in supporting the implementation of this program and supporting the efforts of the National Council for Women aimed at empowering women and enhancing their participation at the level All sectors.
She also thanked Ambassador Christian Berger, Head of the European Union Delegation to Egypt, for the strategic partnership in implementing this program, which is one of the basics of its success.
She also extended thanks to Dr. Sherifa Sherif, Executive Director of the National Institute for Governance and Sustainable Development, the main partner of the "National Program for Women in Leadership", for her efforts and cooperation with the National Council for Women in designing and setting the guiding principles and the expected outputs of this distinguished program.
Nevertheless, she expressed her appreciation to the International Training Center of the International Labor Organization, and to the center’s experts who were of a high level of excellence, and for their efforts in providing specialized training according to the Egyptian context and the educational needs of program participants.
Dr. Naglaa El-Adly assured the trainees of the first batch of the "National Program for Women in Leadership" that this training program is an added value to their future career. "We hope that this long educational journey and unique experience will enhance their ability as strategic leaders in their field."
For her part, Dr. Sherifa Sherif, Executive Director of the National Institute for Governance and Sustainable Development, thanked Dr. Maya Morsy, President of the National Council for Women, for her efforts in supporting the implementation of this program. She noted that empowering women and supporting their access to leadership positions is one of the files that receive great attention from the state.
She also emphasized that the National Council for Women leads the process of promoting the concept of women's empowerment and gender equality in Egypt, expressing pride in the efforts made by the NCW in this field, and the role played by the Council's work team to empower women and enhance their participation in society and in all sectors.
NIGSD Executive Director explained that the "National Program for Women in Leadership" comes in line with the 2014 constitution, and the women's empowerment strategy emanating from Egypt's Vision 2030, and focuses on raising the capabilities of women leaders and supporting their access to decision-making and decision-making positions.
The three-day workshop covered a number of topics that focus on developing and strengthening leadership skills that support gender equality. Including effective communication, motivation and problem solving, with the aim of supporting women to become more effective and capable of taking leadership positions, in addition to providing the opportunity to learn about tools for developing self-management and exchanging experiences by organizing plays to tell inspiring stories about the role of women in leadership positions in this regard.
It is worth mentioning that the "National Program for Women in Leadership" is one of the main components of the project "Enhancing the Participation of Women in Public Life in Egypt".
The program focuses on developing leadership skills and personality traits of women, skills for making and implementing public policies and results-based management, training in the use of tools and techniques for gender mainstreaming in work and women’s empowerment, and planning policies responsive to women’s needs.
The program aims to train 300 women who occupy positions in the senior and middle management in the academic government agencies in the country.
