Egypt’s NIGSD launches the professional level for 2nd batch of the “Be an Ambassador” initiative in 2022

Under the patronage of H.E. Dr. Hala El-Said, Minister of Planning and Economic Development; The National Institute for Governance and Sustainable Development (NIGSD) - the training arm of the ministry - launched the professional level - Training of Trainers TOT - for the second batch of the "Be an Ambassador" initiative, which will run until September 22, 2022.
During her opening speech; Dr. Sharifa Sharif, Executive Director of NIGSD, reviewed the work and tasks of the institute, noting that it is one of the first training institutes in the Middle East.
Sherif explained that the institute's specialization was changed to governance and sustainable development in 2020, pointing out that the institute is entrusted with training, research, and consultancy in governance and sustainable development under the slogan "Governance for Sustainable Development."
Dr. Sherifa Sherif said that the establishment of NIGSD is a clear sign that governance is an accelerating tool for implementing the goals of Egypt's Vision 2030, as governance is a continuous process to reach the desired goals.






 Sherif pointed out that governance ensures the efficiency and effectiveness of institutions, reduces corruption, and ensures sustainable economic development and a better quality of life for citizens.

Sherif indicated that there is great interest from the state in the Egyptian youth, and that youth are at the heart of the development process within Egypt's Vision 2030, and the state is always keen to expand investment in young people and qualify them for leadership.
 Sherif referred to the "Be an Ambassador" initiative launched by the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development in cooperation with the National Institute for Governance and Sustainable Development in 2020, to spread the thought and culture of sustainable development among young people.
 The first batch of graduates included about 700 young men and women representing all the governorates of Egypt.
For her part, Amira Hossam, Assistant Minister of Planning and Sustainable Development for Sustainable Development Affairs, indicated that the first batch of the “Be an Ambassador” initiative was graduated, in addition to the batch of media professionals and journalists, from which about 50 media professionals graduated.
