Vivid activity of the Minister of Planning and Economic Development during her representation of Egypt at HLPF in New York

H.E. Dr. Hala El-Said, Minister of Planning and Economic Development, participated in the High-Level Political Forum (HLPF) on Sustainable Development 2022 at United Nations Headquarters in New York.
The forum was held under the theme “Building back better after the COVID-19 pandemic while advancing the full implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development”.
The participation included an intense activity by the Minister of Planning, by attending some high-level meetings and holding many bilateral meetings.
Dr. Hala El-Said said that participation in the high-level political forum achieved a large number of gains, the most important of which is the presentation of a vision to rebuild the economy and post-Corona recovery, and how the pandemic will affect long-term national plans, especially Egypt’s Vision 2030.
El-Said added that the visions of several partner countries and institutions were also reviewed, and their experiences in pursuit of sustainable development goals were learned.
El-Said said that during all bilateral meetings and major events; We found great appreciation and interest in the details of the presidential initiative "A Dignified Life", which aims to improve the conditions of more than half of Egyptian society in various fields. The Minister of Planning and Economic Development also indicated that the population issue was strongly present in the forum, and the national project for the development of the Egyptian family was reviewed, which deals with the population issue from a developmental approach and is concerned with raising demographic characteristics, empowering women, raising awareness and achieving digital and legislative transformation.
The meetings and participation of Dr. Hala El-Said in the forum included; Participation in a high-level ministerial meeting entitled "Accelerating the achievement of the sustainable development goals by 2030: addressing persistent crises and overcoming challenges", with the participation of ministers of some countries.
The participation of the Minister of Planning included participated in a session of messages from the geographical regions, during which she reviewed the Egyptian experience in facing the repercussions of Covid-19, and the role of the presidential initiative "A Dignified Life" in achieving sustainable development goals.Dr. Hala El-Said also discussed bilateral files and joint Arab cooperation with Ms. Noor bint Ali Al-Khalif, Bahraini Minister of Sustainable Development, Dr. Khaled Battal Al-Najm, Iraqi Minister of Planning, and Mr. Nasser Al-Sharideh, Jordanian Minister of Planning and International Cooperation.
During the bilateral meetings with the ministers concerned with planning and sustainable development, El-Said reviewed the most important files carried out by the Ministry of Planning.
El-Said referred to Egypt's Vision 2030, the preparation of medium-term and annual plans, the Egyptian experience in the national program for economic and social reform, and the second phase of it represented in structural reforms.
It also included the meetings of the Minister of Planning at the high-level political forum; Meeting with Usha Rao Munari, Under-Secretary-General of the United Nations and Assistant Administrator of the United Nations Development Program, and Dr. Khaleda Bouzar, Assistant Secretary-General of the United Nations and Director of the Regional Bureau for the Arab States of the United Nations Development Programme.
