Minister of Planning and Economic Development follows up the work of the judging committees of the teams participating in the finals of the "Youth for Development" initiative

H.E. Dr. Hala El-Said, Minister of Planning and Economic Development, received a report on the follow-up to the stages of selecting the teams participating in the Youth for Development initiative, which witnessed the holding of several meetings of the jury with the teams qualified to qualify the groups participating in the student competition tracks.
Dr. Hala El-Said, Minister of Planning and Economic Development, indicated that the "Youth for Development" initiative is a youth initiative that aims to provide and create areas for young people to be involved in issues of public affairs and to open continuous channels of communication with them.
This is within the framework of the themes addressed in the Egyptian Human Development Report 2021, which are: education, health, adequate housing, economic reform, social protection, environmental sustainability, the new renaissance of Egyptian women, and governance.
For his part, Dr. Muhammad Alaa, coordinator of the initiative, and deputy director of the International Cooperation Office at the ministry indicated that the initiative consists of two main axes, the first one aims to introduce university youth to human development and link it to the state’s strategic plan and development projects at the national and local levels.
Alaa explained that the universities participating in the initiative are Cairo, Ain Shams, Beni Suef, Mansoura, and Port Said, and each university received a set of pieces of training organized by the Ministry of Planning in cooperation with the United Nations Development Program.
Each university also implemented a set of exercises within the university, to train the teams participating in the competitions, in addition to making internal qualifiers for all the teams participating in the competitions.
