Essam explained that it was agreed to add the environment and green transformation sector to the five sectors under study in the project, which are education, health, social protection, water and sanitation, and transportation, with the intersection of the gender dimension, in addition to adopting the proposed timetable for the joint program.
For his part, Scott Standley, an economist at the office of the United Nations Resident Coordinator in Egypt, reviewed the global context and its developments in integrated national frameworks for financing the sustainable development goals, stressing the importance of working on the sustainability of the implementation of the sub-components even after the end of the project period.
Sylvain Merlin, Deputy Resident Representative of the United Nations Development Program and the agency responsible for technical leadership of the joint program, noted the progress and results achieved so far in the project's sub-components, as well as the remaining steps to complete the implementation of the project components until the following December.
