Dr. Sherifa Sherif, Executive Director of the National Institute for Governance and Sustainable Development (NIGSD), the training arm of the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development, met with the President of the German Hans Seidel Foundation to discuss ways to enhance aspects of future cooperation.

During the meeting, Dr. Sherifa Sherif reviewed an overview of the establishment of the National Institute for Governance and Sustainable Development from 1956 until the issuance of the Prime Minister's decision to rename the institute the "National Institute for Governance and Sustainable Development".
Sherif explained that the institute adopts a set of strategic objectives, including supporting and enhancing Egypt's performance and its global ranking in governance, competitiveness, and sustainable development, building capacities in the areas of governance, competitiveness, and sustainable development.
She further noted the NIGSD is responsible for reviewing, evaluating, monitoring, and preparing reports on Egypt's ranking in global indicators, and promoting good governance practices.

Sherif referred to the "Be an Ambassador" initiative, which aims to spread the idea of ​​sustainability among young people, and the "She is for a digital future" initiative, which aims to bridge the digital gender gap, in addition to the Egyptian Women Leaders Program, which aims to empower promising women leaders and hone their experiences in dealing with Contemporary challenges of government work.
Sherif highlighted the institute's educational platforms, which are represented in the Estidama platform, which includes about 54 interactive courses, in addition to the Etnji platform at the level of Africa, which includes a large number of training programs for some training institutes that are available free of charge at the level of Africa.

This is in addition to the Institute's Training Network for Management Institutes in Africa "Tanmia", which is a unique platform that connects all African countries through training and management institutes.
