In a report issued by the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development, the government reviewed the achievements of the state in "Building People" in 8 years (July 2014 - June 2022) based on the "Programs and Performance" methodology.H.E. Dr. Hala El-Said, Minister of Planning and Economic Development, stressed that the Egyptian state attaches great importance to the development of the Egyptian citizen and the upgrading of the level of services provided to him in all respects, believing that the citizen is the real pillar of development. This is evident in the volume of financial allocations and public investments directed to human development during the previous eight years (14/2015, 21/2022), where the state directed the general budget to more than EGP 1.88 trillion, with a growth rate of 187%, compared to the eight years before it. (06/2007 - 13/2014). The public investment also exceeded EGP 348 billion during the period (14/2015 - 21/2022), with a growth rate of 390% compared to the period (2007/06 - 13/2014).The report of the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development deals in detail with the state's efforts in implementing 50 development programs and initiatives, and more than 200 strategic projects that have been implemented in the sectors of health, education, youth, sports, and cultural services, during the past eight years.





Concerning the development of spending directed to the health sector, the Egyptian state directed from the general budget about EGP 572 billion for government spending on the health sector during the previous eight years (14/2015-21/2022).As a result of all these huge sums, the implementation of many initiatives, programs, and strategic projects in the health sector, including the implementation of the first phase of the comprehensive health insurance system in 5 governorates, with several beneficiaries of 6.1 million citizens, who constitute 6% of the population of Egypt.Among the most important strategic results of the health sector, are an increase in the average life expectancy at birth by 5% to reach 74.3 years, a significant decrease in the maternal mortality rate from 54 deaths per 100,000 live births to only 43 cases, with an improvement of 20%, an increase in the rate of self-sufficiency in medicines to reach to 93%.The report pointed to the development of spending directed to the education sector, as the Egyptian state directed from the general budget more than EGP 1 trillion for government spending on the education sector during the previous eight years (14/2015-21/2022), with a growth rate of 158%.The annual government spending directed to the sector increased from EGP 84 billion in 2014/13 to EGP 173 billion in 21/2022, with a growth rate of 105%.
