NIGSD signs MoU with the Canadian Universities Foundation in Egypt for cooperation in the field of governance and human capacity development

The National Institute for Governance and Sustainable Development (NIGSD), the training arm of the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development, represented by Dr. Sherifa Sherif, Executive Director of the Institute, signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Canadian Universities Foundation in Egypt, represented by Dr. Kim Critchley, President of University of Prince Edward Island (UPEI).
The memorandum seeks to enhance cooperation in the field of governance, sustainable development, and human capacity development.
Following the signing of the memorandum of understanding, Dr. Sherifa Sherif affirmed NIGSD’s keenness to form partnerships with the most prestigious local and international institutions, adding that the institute took upon itself the task of change and adopted a new approach to development and service provision, intending to become a regional center for knowledge.Sherif added that the role played by the institute depends on training, qualifying, and raising the knowledge and skills of the Egyptian state's cadres in all fields to achieve sustainable development.It is worth noting that Canadian universities in Egypt are the first educational institutions established within the new administrative capital to host branches of Canadian universities inside Egypt, including the Canadian University of Prince Edward Island branch.
